Peter Bauer and Neil Murray are the co-founders of the security technology company Mimecast.
Many people do not know, that they're both South African, and the company was in fact birthed right here in Mzansi in 2003.
Mimecast started out specialises in cloud-based email management for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office 365, including security, archiving, and continuity services to protect business mail.
Today, it has offices around the world, including Australia, U.S.A, Europe and in Cape Town & Johannesburg.
Since its founding in 2003, Mimecast has grown to providing more than 42,000 organisations IT security, protecting companies communication and data systems from security threats and hackers.
Mimecast recently appointed Marc van Zadelhoff as its new CEO, replacing Bauer who was at the helm for 21 years since the company's inception.
Speaking to Bruce Whitfield on The Money Show, van Zadelhoff says he's honoured to be leading the company into its next phase.
"Why do you focus on securing the collaboration and email in a Microsoft environment? Well that's the largest market share of email usage around the planet. That certainly was a focus, but the company has broadened to almost any email platform..."
- Marc van Zadelhoff, CEO of Mimecast
"If you think about the person sitting behind the computer, the employee behind the computer, how do we make that person less likely to do dumb or ignorant acts, and how do we make the collaboration technologies like email less likely to lead them down the r=wrong track with hackers and insiders and compliance issues."
- Marc van Zadelhoff, CEO of Mimecast
