United States Ambassador Brent Bozell has dodged questions about whether he believes there’s a white genocide in South Africa.

Bozell is one of 20 ambassadors who submitted their letters of credence to President Cyril Ramaphosa at the presidential guesthouse in Pretoria on Wednesday.

The letters are official documents that formalise diplomatic relations between nations and confirm the status of appointed ambassadors.

US President Donald Trump and Pretoria-born tech-giant Elon Musk have spearheaded the false narrative of a white genocide in South Africa.

This is part of the reason why Trump ditched the G20 summit in Johannesburg last November and why he’s also chosen to slap Pretoria with high tariffs.

When asked by journalists whether he’s seen any evidence of a white genocide since he came to South Africa in February, this was Bozell’s response.

"There’ve been a lot of issues, but today I’m not going to talk about them. Today is a day to celebrate, and it’s a day, as an American, where I feel very proud to be here; my president asked me to come. I’m focusing on the positives, as I told President Ramaphosa. There are those who want to sow discord between our two countries, and I understand that, but I’m not one of them."

Bozell previously stated that his main mission as the ambassador is to convince South Africa to drop its genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
