Clear skies are predicted for the riding day with a minimum temperature of 18°C, a high of 26°C and gentle winds of 19 kilometres per hour.

Early riders can catch the sunrise at 6.40 am.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour has raised almost R50 million in the last five years, which it distributes to charities.

This year will be no different as some cyclists ride to make an impact for charities of their choice.

"Every weekend for the last few months I've been doing training rides and last week I did my longest one which was 80 kilometres. This is the most I've trained for a singular race on a unicycle for CHOC - a charity that supports kids with cancer."
- Ethan (14), Cape Town Cycle Tour Participant
"It's an incredibly worthwhile cause. This year I'm riding for the Zip-Zap Circus School."
- Cape Town Cycle Tour Participant
"I'm riding for I Love Boobies. We are raising awareness and funds for underprivileged women who can't afford breast exams or have access to places where they can get one."
- Marco, Cape Town Cycle Tour Participant
