13 March 2024 | 8:10Noooo, we're not crying - you are! This is just the first surprise drop in the 'Stationery Vehicle Initiative' with The Flash Drive team.
Get your tissues ready!
The Flash Drive with Carl Wastie and Tarryn Lamb did the things for Nederburg Primary School and you helped Kfm fam.
The Flash Drive team started 'The Stationery Vehicle Initiative' at the start of the year where Kfm Crew, Suzuki and YOU, Kfm fam came together to raise almost half a million Rand in donations to help schools with some of the resources needed to help make teaching and learning accessible and enjoyable.
Something so simple as stationery can be too expensive for some schools to provide for learners.
But Nederburg Primary encourages innovation that is born from necessity. For example, kids upcycle Checkers grocery bags to cover their books because wrapping paper is too expensive while others recycle 2-liter cooldrink bottles to use as stationery holders because stationery bags are steep in pricing too.
When Carl and Tarryn heard of this innovation despite Nederburg Primary's circumstance - they had to make a stop for a surprise stationery drop-off - here's how it went (you might want to get those tissues ready).
There were tears all around - teachers, kids, Carl, Tarryn and the rest of the team could not contain their feels during this very special moment.
Amanda Pitt, a teacher at Nederburg Primary could not express enough gratitude.
"Thank you to everyone who sponsored our children to give them an opportunity with their life."
- Amanda Pitt, Teacher - Nederburg Primary
BUT it's not over yet!
Carl and Tarryn have so much more to give and we can't wait to see where they'll go next.
Here's to a bright futures and making an impact in the lives of our future - the children of Mzansi.
