JOHANNESBURG - Residents in Linden and the surrounding areas have been urged to prepare for water disruptions due to repairs on a burst pipe.
Johannesburg Water said work would begin on Monday morning and would likely be completed on Tuesday morning.
The utility said it needed to isolate the system to repair the pipe, which would leave residents with dry taps until the repairs were done.
Areas including Kensington B, Cresta and President Park are expected to be left without water for over 24 hours as Johannesburg Water repairs a 711 millimetre burst pipe in its system.
It said alternative water supply would be offered to the affected areas until the repairs were completed.
These areas are some of those that were hardest hit by water interruptions over the last month due to lightning strikes at the Eikenhof pump station affecting supply.
Johannesburg Water also urged residents to use water sparingly due to high water consumption in the city.
