CAPE TOWN - Cape Town disaster risk management teams are on standby following an inclement weather warning from the South African Weather Service.
The weather office has advised that an intense cut-off low-pressure system is expected to make landfall in the Western Cape from Saturday evening until Monday.
The system could result in gale-force winds, possible disruptive rainfall, damaging waves as well as cold and wet conditions.
The City of Cape Town's Charlotte Powell: "The DRMC has alerted all relevant city services to be on standby, in the event of any potential weather-related impacts."
