The first episode of season two premiered on SABC 3 on Saturday night and we also got to unmask our first contestant – the Springbok.
Behind the intricate costume of the Springbok was the legendary Nthati Moshesh.
The actress had people guessing to the very end, throwing people off with her song choice – ‘As It Was’ by Harry Styles.
“I wanted to give South Africa a chance to see Nthati Moshesh in a different light. Take her away from these very stern serious roles and just see her in a fun light. That’s the real me… [the Springbok] is an extension of who I am.”

“I am a huge fan [of Harry Styles]… That genre really speaks to me, it’s my happy place, it lifts me up… I was shouting and letting it all out.”

While she had so much fun on stage, taking part in the show saw Moshesh tackle her fear of closed spaces.
“Being behind that mask was a huge challenge but I did disclose that when I signed on. But I am glad I did because I got to realise that it was really mind over matter… I think I coped and I would have been okay.”
