Six-week-old, 850-gram Suki from Mitchells Plain almost proved right the phrase 'curiosity killed the cat' after swallowing a needle and thread.
Thankfully, this one has a PAWsitive ending!
The formidable feline survived surgery and was reunited with her grateful owner a few days after the operation.
According to the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa, it is 'common' for cats to consume needles and threads.
Cat parents are urged to be vigilant about what their pets play with.
TRIGGER WARNING: an animal in distress is featured in the images below.
"The photos are remarkable to me. I think it's amazing. The needle and thread is as big as her head. She is the cutest kitten. I'm happy that Suki is alive and well and thanks to the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa for stepping in."
