KZN EdU Depart to prioritise repairing schools damaged by severe weather

Kwazulu-Natal schools that have been affected by severe weather-related incidents will be prioritised for infrastructural repairs this academic year.

Education MEC Sipho Hlomuka visited Khuleni High School and Ezakheni High School in Ladysmith on Wednesday.
“Part of our visit is to check the infrastructure. We’ve identified some challenges, especially at Ezakheni High School, and the team from infrastructure has conducted assessments at a district level.”
The MEC added that all relevant stakeholders will be brought together to assist the schools.
“We are going to engage with the head of department and his team to focus on schools that have been affected by storms, as well as schools that require maintenance.”
