CAPE TOWN - The North West University has awarded Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus with an honorary doctorate in coaching.
Erasmus, who was visibly moved by the award, was honoured for his commitment to inclusivity and transformation.
"I'm not nervous in front of 80,000 people when we play a Test but I'm nervous... but this is definitely not my comfort zone... you know, the academic world, where you people do this wonderful work."
Among those in attendance was Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, who flew in from Paris for the ceremony.
