Hardware stores across Cape Town report an increase in people buying wipers to replace stolen ones.

Car wipers are 'easy to steal and resell for money', says Page.

Page shares two things motorists can do to avoid wiper theft:

1) Report it to the police so they know this issue is becoming a problem.

2) Secure wipers with cable ties or screw them down onto your wiper blades when you park in public spaces.
