'It's the year of the bakkie lover' - New bakkie brands launching in SA

Chinese car maker, LDV is one of the brands hoping to capitalise on South Africans' love for bakkies.

Gugs Mhlungu spoke to resident Motoring Enthusiast, Kumbi Mtshakazi.

The LDV T60 range comes in four variations and is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine generating 120 kW and 375 Nm.

Buyers have a choice between 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.

There is a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of interior, you can expect A 7-inch touchscreen, A4-speaker sound system, a reversing camera, four airbags and much more.

These bakkies retail from R480,000 to R 790,000.
