KZN police monitoring Port Shepstone amid taxi protest

JOHANNESBURG - Police said they were monitoring the situation in Port Shepstone on the KZN South Coast.
The small seaside town was cast into chaos on Thursday morning after taxi drivers and owners blockaded all entries and exits into the area.
This comes after members of the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) impounded a number of taxis on Wednesday as part of "Operation Shanela".
Police say RTI are on the ground addressing the concerns of the local taxi industry.
