City of Tshwane warns residents of drop in temperatures

TSHWANE - The City of Tshwane has warned residents of a drop in temperatures in the metro.
Temperatures have started dropping in parts of the country, including flood-hit Kariega, Gqeberha, and East London.

According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), Gauteng's Jack Frost conditions will be coupled with thundershowers, windy conditions, and the possibility of fires as residents try to keep warm.
While urging residents to keep warm, Tshwane Emergency Management Services (EMS) said it is important to observe protocol.
"Burning charcoal gives off deadly amounts of carbon monoxide, so do not leave it in the house when sleeping,” said spokesperson Charles Mabaso.
“Never use fuels that are not designed for your heating unit. Improper use of space heaters - izimbawula, braziers and electric, gas, and paraffin heaters, among others - should be avoided."
