The City of Ekurhuleni is providing relief efforts to residents left out in the cold due to weather-related incidents
Eleven homes were damaged in Katlehong on Monday due to heavy rain and flooding.
On Monday night, emergency personnel responded to multiple calls from residents after heavy rains blew roofs off and collapsed walls.
One elderly woman was injured and was treated by paramedics on site.
The City of Ekurhuleni’s Tikkie Macdonald said emergency services remain on high alert for any other incidents
“Our primary focus is ensuring the safety of the residents of Kwanele Ext 2 and providing swift relief to those who have lost their shelter. We urge residents to remain cautious and report any further damage to the emergency services immediately.”
