Joburg EMS contain fire at China Mart factory

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg emergency services has managed to contain a fire at a factory in China Mart, Johannesburg.
It's understood that the building was engulfed in flames earlier on Monday morning and several people had to be evacuated.
Joburg EMS said that fire safety officials would conduct preliminary investigations to determine the cause of the fire when it is extinguished.
There are currently no reports of anyone missing but emergency services said that a search and rescue operation was underway to ensure that everone was accounted for.
EMS spokesperson, Nana Radebe Kgiba: "At the moment, we have not received any reports of people that are missing but we are talking to the owners to check if there were other people that were inside. We are still busy with firefighting and investigations will be done after fighting the fire."
