Warren Masemola on winning Masked Singer SA: ‘I was in it to win it’

Bongani Bingwa catches up with Warren Masemola and Shudufhadzo Musida, aka the Giraffe and Blue Crane.

In case you missed it, the Masked Singer South Africa finale was this weekend and Warren Masemola was crowned the winner.

The legendary actor was the celebrity behind the Giraffe, singing and dancing his way to the top to claim the season 2 trophy.

“I haven’t been doing a lot of work for film and tv lately so it was another opportunity to entertain myself and entertain South Africa. I get to play a lot of characters in my career and this one was so exciting to do."

“I was in it to win it. When Anele Mdoda asked me to be on the show I was like I just needed to triple-check my dates [because] I am definitely going to win this one. I knew coming in.”

Runner-up was the former Miss South Africa and author Shudufhadzo Musida who shocked audiences with her voice as Blue Crane. 

“It was so much fun, it was a dream come true… watching it now feels like it’s happening again. It’s beautiful to see that we get to be reintroduced to our inner child.”
