DURBAN - Five suspected criminals in KwaZulu-Natal have been killed during another police shootout in the province.

The police said they've been tracking the suspects for quite some time.

Police said they found the gang in a rented house in Cato Crest, where they resisted arrest.

The police's Robert Netshiunda explained how officers acted: “When police announced their presence, the suspects opened fire towards the law enforcement officers through the windows.

“A shootout ensued and after the ceasefire, five suspects were found to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds.”

Netshiunda said an AK-47 assault rifle, three pistols and drugs were found in the possession of the suspects.
