Robbery suspect dies in shootout with KZN police

DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal police have shot and killed a robbery suspect during a gunfire in Esikhaleni, north of the province on Sunday night.
Police said they responded to calls from a robbery victim in the Ndindima area.
They said after tracing four of the suspects, one of them opened fire at the police when he saw blue lights approaching them. He was killed instantly when officers responded.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the other three suspects are still at large.
“One suspect was fatally wounded in the resultant shootout whilst the other three fled into the bushes. A search for them is still underway. The deceased suspect was found in possession of a 38 special revolver firearm with five rounds of ammunition.”
