Connie Chiume hailed as exemplary icon during funeral service

JOHANNESBURG - Veteran actress Connie Chiume has been hailed as an exemplary icon during her funeral service.

Chiume was laid to rest on Thursday in Daveyton.

She died last week in hospital following a medical procedure.

Artistic director, Clive Mathibe, said Chiume left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.

"Thank you for the fierce and fabulous energy you carried. Your grace, your style and your elegance will surely carry us into this generation and beyond."
