Case against man accused of killing Xavier Mitchell postponed for further investigations
The 5-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Bishop Lavis about two weeks ago while he was in the care of his nanny.

CAPE TOWN - The case against a man accused of the murder of a 5-year-old boy in Bishop Lavis has been postponed for further investigation.
Xavier Mitchell was stabbed to death about two weeks ago. He was in the care of his nanny when tragedy struck.
Little Xavier’s tragic death has rocked the Cape Town community of Bishop Lavis.

Scores of mourners gathered in the area over the weekend as the 5-year-old was laid to rest.
The court has ordered that Xavier's alleged killer, Mervyn White, be sent for assessment at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital.
He is due back in the dock at the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court on 18 September.
Meanwhile, the Bishop Lavis community policing forum (CPF) has drawn up a petition, hoping it'll ensure the accused remains behind bars.
So far, over 1,200 people have signed the petition.
