The Animal Welfare Society of South Africa has also been assisting and has regularly updated its Facebook page about a baboon seen roaming in Plumstead, Ottery, and Kenwyn.
They have advised the community to avoid interacting with the wild animal, and to keep pets indoors for safety.

At 10 am, they announced that the male baboon was successfully and safely captured in Lansdowne, Cape Town.

To ensure safety, remember:
- Avoid the area where the baboon is spotted
- Do not approach the animal, as it is wild
- Do not feed the baboon
- Keep doors and windows securely closed
- Keep pets indoors
