PRASA 'vindicated' as Daniel Mthimkhulu sentenced to 15 years

Former PRASA chief engineer Daniel Mthimkhulu has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of three counts of fraud.
Mthimkhulu had falsified his qualifications to be appointed to his position and even submitted a fake job offer to bump up his salary.

During his time PRASA reportedly lost hundreds of millions on unusable trains.
Makanda says PRASA welcomes the conviction and sentence.

PRASA also instituted civil proceedings to recover the money they lost.
Makanda says the SIU has obtained an order to seize Mthimkhulu's assets worth over R5 million.
