Many also feel there are limited opportunities to meet someone new in person.

IRL Cape Town is attempting to make things easier by helping singles take their search for love back into the real world.

Through IRL, users can make real world connections in safe spaces through pop-up singles events.

Ludski says these events are supposed to help people feel comfortable with flirting and asking people out in public.

“We need to practice and get used to that idea again.”

Their first event is happening this weekend at The Pink Room at The Gorgeous George.

The event is on Saturday 5 October from 7-11pm, and tickets are on quicket at R50 for singles and R75 if you bring a friend.

At the event they will have conversation prompts, games, and giveaways to try and make the environment more comfortable.
