If the idea of walking into a high-street adult toy store, with it's flashing red neon lights and garish signage is a massive turn-off, fear not, a new local website has got you covered.

Forbidden Garden is a new local adult website that believes in empowering customers to feel confident, sexy and seen.  

It offers a carefully curated a selection of lingerie and toys, designed not to be too intimidating.

The focus is on fun, and pleasure and safety says founder Nicole Van Tonder.

"Our high-street brands are very in your face and harsh, and i just wanted to create a safe online space where women can connect and we can all chat."

Despite having only been in operation since last year, Forbidden Garden is growing by around 30% a month says van Tonder.

She says, while they offer a range of products, their best-selling items are the 'old faithfuls'.

"Definitley your standard vibrators, they are the most popular."

And there are plenty of new toys on the block for those wanting to explore.

"Air tecnhology is fabulous. It's nothing that penetrates. It's not invasive, it's really gentle. We're really progressing."
