TZANEEN - Some African National Congress (ANC) leaders have again called for the party’s renewal, this time in honour of the late finance minister and reserve bank governor, Tito Mboweni.
Mboweni died last Saturday following a short, undisclosed illness at the age of 65.

The ANC has remembered Mboweni not just as an economic and political leader but also as a friend and mentor.
ANC NEC member, David Mahlobo said that Mboweni's brand of humour and humility, even in the toughest of times, would be sorely missed.
"Comrade Tito was very fierce and combative but he never looked down on other people."
But Mahlobo said that Mboweni's job was not yet done.
"If in Heaven there was a qualified audit report, comrade Tito's skills might come in handy so that he fixes the books in Heaven so that they can get a clean audit because Heaven itself is an institution."
In honour of Mboweni's life and legacy, Mahlobo called on political leaders to take a leaf from his book of good governance and selfless service.
