Social media is a buzz after South Africa bagged the rights to host Africa’s first-ever Drag Race.
The online community shared their excitement after the producers World of Wonder (WOW) confirmed the news.

WOW founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato say they look forward to seeing what the continent has to offer.
“We have seen a host of gorgeous, talented queens hailing from across Africa grace the runway over the years… It’s time for a unique version from South Africa that includes the incredible talent the continent has to offer.”
The Drag Race franchise is well-known and highly regarded internationally.
South Africa becomes the 15th edition of the franchise, joining the likes of Thailand, Canada, Germany, Spain and Mexico.
Casting for Drag Race South Africa is set to commence next year on a date yet to be announced.
