JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA is expected to file a motion for former Johannesburg mayor Kabelo Gwamanda to be referred to the ethics and disciplinary committee.
The party said Gwamanda could not continue to serve as PR councillor for Al Jama-ah while facing fraud allegations.

He was arrested last month for allegedly running a funeral policy scam in 2011, in which residents of Soweto were defrauded.
"As the allegations against councillor Gwamanda precede his councillorship, a council resolution is necessary for referral or dismissal. ActionSA holds the view that councillor Gwamanda cannot serve the city with unresolved allegations," said ActionSA Johannesburg Caucus spokesperson, Khomo Mashala.
