Families attend wreath-laying ceremony hosted by the transport department in Tshwane

JOHANNESBURG - Families of traffic officers who died in the line of duty have welcomed a wreath-laying ceremony hosted by the transport department in Tshwane on Sunday morning.
 
The ceremony, held at the Boekenhoutkloof Traffic College, brought together grieving families, government leaders, and officials in a solemn moment of remembrance.

Deputy Transport Minister Mkhuleko Hlengwa, accompanied by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, delivered a moving keynote address.

The heart-wrenching tribute took centre stage on Sunday morning as family members, with tear-stained faces and heavy hearts, laid wreaths in memory of their loved ones.

The ceremony was lengthy but fittingly honoured the fallen heroes.

Deputy Minister Mkhuleko Hlengwa urged South Africans to embrace safer driving habits and to comply with road rules, stressing the need to prevent further loss of life.
