The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) in Limpopo has announced its newly elected provincial leadership following a successful elective conference in Polokwane.

Chairperson Lesiba Ngwepe has been re-elected to lead the structure, alongside a mix of returning and new members in the provincial executive committee.

The taxi body says the new leadership will focus on strengthening the industry and expanding economic opportunities for operators across the value chain.

SANTACO Limpopo spokesperson Sipho Maloma says a key priority will also be tackling the rise of illegal seven-seater vehicles, which continue to undermine the livelihoods of compliant operators.

“The new administration is committed to working collaboratively to develop sustainable regulatory enforcement solutions to protect the integrity of the industry. SANTACO Limpopo remains committed to unity, transformation and professionalism in the taxi industry.”
