JOHANNESBURG - The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has advised pet owners to ensure their furry friends are tagged as the country enters the festive season
The council has reminded pet lovers that fireworks, which harm animals, are often part of celebrations during this time of year.
Spokesperson Samantha Stelli said pet owners must ensure their animals are identifiable, should they get lost.
“So, for example, having a microchip that’s got updated details of the owner of the pet or a collar with a tag that’s got your details on, so that if an animal does get lost during fireworks, the task of reuniting them with the owners is much easier.”
