CAPE TOWN - A 32-year-old man has been reported missing at the Olifants River mouth in Papendorp on the West Coast.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said that rescue teams responded to reports of a drowning in progress at the river mouth at 3.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
"On arrival on the scene, an extensive search for a 32-year-old local man who had gone missing in the water while swimming, commenced. Despite an extensive search, there remains no signs of the missing man. Police WPDS [water policing and diving services] are activated to continue in an ongoing search."
