GDE calls on parents to complete late applications for grades 1 and 8

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) is calling on parents to complete their late applications for pupils in grades 1 and 8.

The deadline for late applications is on Friday. 

The department said it had placed more than 32,000 learners in schools across the province.

Department spokesperson, Steve Mabona, added that all online applicants had been placed.

"Gauteng schools were availed on the online admissions system for late applicants. It must be noted that late applicants who applied online received immediate placement upon completing their application."
