13 cops killed between October and December 2024, says Hawks' Lebeya

JOHANNESBURG - Thirteen police officers were killed between October and December 2024.

Hawks head Godfrey Lebeya made the announcement while delivering their third quarterly stats on Friday morning in Pretoria. 

He said the killing of police officers is considered a national priority offence. 

"During this period, 13 police officials were murdered, of which eight were off duty while five were on duty. Thirty arrests and seven convictions with 22 life imprisonment sentences and 725 years imprisonment were secured."
