JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng is holding its first political rally since its national leadership resolved to “reconfigure” its Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).

In 2025, the ANC marks 113 years of existence.
At this stage, it is unclear what the reconfiguration of the ANC in Gauteng entails.
However, the ANC’s national leadership has clarified that Gauteng is free to host rallies.
It also announced that ANC members deployed to the Gauteng government won’t be affected.
Gauteng’s reconfiguration came after a disappointing electoral performance that saw the ANC lose its majority in the province.
The ANC in Gauteng said Sunday’s rally is the first part of endearing the organisation to the people.
