CAPE TOWN - The principal of a school in Lotus River has confirmed that some pupils have been suspended following a violent fighting incident.
A video making the rounds on social media shows a group of pupils, including boys, from Lotus High School attacking a female student.
The footage has sparked outrage among parents and teachers.
Lotus High principal, Stephen Price, confirmed that the matter was reported to police.
"I immediately approached the governing body with regards to suspending these learners, pending a disciplinary hearing, a formal disciplinary hearing and the governing body has agreed to that and learners involved have been suspended and will face a disciplinary hearing this weekend."
