CAPE TOWN - Four men are behind bars for alleged extortion after being arrested in Khayelitsha on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, said the alleged extortionists were due in court once they had been charged.
Twigg said members of the Cape Town K9 Unit made the arrests after receiving a tip-off about four suspects in a grey Toyota Corolla.
"They followed up the information and stopped and searched the vehicle and the occupants in Mew Way. While searching the vehicle, the members found an undisclosed amount of cash in the vehicle, of which the occupants could not account for.
