JOHANNESBURG - Water and soil seepage into the Gautrain tunnel has led to service disruptions between Park and Rosebank stations.
Authorities say illegal drilling on private property above the tunnel is to blame adversely affecting the Gautrain’s operating systems in the section.
Spokesperson Albi Modise says the drilling was done without the necessary approvals, violating the Gauteng Transportation Infrastructure Act.
"Gautrain’s management is currently assessing the situation and working on restoring services as soon as possible," said Modise.
