DURBAN - The eThekwini Municipality has ordered the closure of some of its beaches following severe rainy conditions.
Since Wednesday, parts of KwaZulu-Natal have experienced heavy downpours with at least six weather-related deaths confirmed in the province.
Four of the victims died as a result of structural collapses in parts of eThekwini.

City spokesperson Gugu Sisilana said the closure of beaches is a safety measure.
“As a safe precaution beaches in the city have been temporarily closed until further notice, the muddy water and pollution streaming in from flood estuaries led to the temporary closure.”
