Community activist Pamela Mabini was instrumental in aiding the victims involved in the Timothy Omotoso alleged rape and trafficking case.

She now joins the growing list of whistleblowers murdered in South Africa while fighting for justice.

Mabini was killed outside her home in Gqeberha on Friday, 7 March.

There was an attempt against her life in 2018, and she had received several other threats.

Cloete Murray,Thomas Murray, Babita Deokaran, Jimmy Mohlala, and Moss Phakoe were just some of the whistleblowers in high-profile cases who met the same tragic fate.

Minister Buthelezi says the killing of whistleblowers is unacceptable and the state is ready to protect them.

He adds that there are systems in place to protect whistleblowers and feels government is doing everything they can to help.
