Listen below:
Masilela was a household name at Mamelodi Sundowns as a player and youth coach.
He was scouted in 1989 and spent a year with Sundowns as an under-19 in the reserve team.
He was promoted to the first team in 1991, becoming known for his quick moves.
Despite being among the most sought-after players during that time, Masilela says he was determined to stand strong at Sundowns.
He says teams offered him more money to transfer but he would not move, a decision he stands by today.
“I am a Mamelodian. I was born here, so I will stay with Mamelodi, whatever happens… I love my city. I love my people… I was loyal to the club… This is the team that I am going to play for, for the rest of my life.”
