JOHANNESBURG - Officials from the City of Tshwane have closed down five businesses as part of their by-law enforcement operation.
During Friday’s health inspection, the retailers were found to be in contravention of the Business Act.
Twelve other businesses were also reported for contravening the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD)’s Rebone Molapo said they were pleased with the results of the operation.
"TMPD will persist with these operations to ensure that the community is familiar with the city by-laws, also equipping business owners with the relevant information that will assist with making their trade more efficient and compliant."
