Case against Brazilian woman arrested at Cape Town airport for possession of cocaine postponed

CAPE TOWN - The case against a Brazilian woman arrested at Cape Town International Airport for the possession of cocaine has been postponed to next week.
The matter was adjourned to give the court time to get a Portuguese interpreter and for a Legal Aid representative to be appointed.

The 33-year-old alleged drug mule was taken into custody last Sunday after authorities received information about a suspect who boarded a flight from Brazil.
Cocaine was found hidden inside a sports bag and upon further investigation, it was established that she had also swallowed an unknown quantity of drug pellets.
Her first appearance was postponed in absentia last week, as she was in hospital, where more than a hundred cocaine pellets she ingested, were removed.
