Cape Winelands fire service continues to monitor Paarl after blaze contained

CAPE TOWN - The Cape Winelands fire service in Paarl continues to monitor the area after it contain a blaze there on Wednesday.  

The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Anesca Roodt said mopping up efforts are still underway.  

“The Cape Winelands District Municipality fire services confirms that the fire on the R301 remains contained and monitoring and mopping up activities are still ongoing until the area is deemed safe.”  

The public is reminded to be vigilant this weekend as the high temperatures could pose fire risks.
