Listen below:

Absa’s recent collaboration with Junior Achievement South Africa is upskilling young entrepreneurs.

“Our priority around being a force for good is around young people, women and disadvantaged communities… We have a responsibility on financial literacy and financial inclusion, however, we are now bringing in entrepreneurship.”
– Steven Zwane, Managing Executive of Corporate Citizenship - Absa

The partnership provides hands-on entrepreneurial skills to young people, particularly in high schools from disadvantaged backgrounds.

For decades, Junior Achievement South Africa has provided an after-school program for entrepreneurship.

“You cannot expect young people to know that entrepreneurship is a career pathway if you don’t instil the mindset of what an entrepreneur is; if you don’t give them the skill sets to become entrepreneurial.”
– Steven Zwane, Managing Executive of Corporate Citizenship - Absa

The programme has delivered entrepreneurial education to over 1,000 students and the team is only getting started.
