Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head, Andrea Johnson, has confirmed that they are investigating politicians in connection with the R360 million tender awarded to one of Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala's companies.
But she said she could not name the politicians pending the investigation.
Johnson said the tender for medical services awarded to Matlala by the police before its cancellation was the only matter involving the murder-accused that they were looking into.
Johnson is giving evidence before Parliament's ad hoc committee investigating corruption on Thursday on matters related to the IDAC and the political killings task team (PKTT).
Johnson confirmed to the committee that murder-accused Matlala was being targeted by IDAC over allegations of corruption related to the police tender.
She testified that the IDAC was investigating several SAPS supply chain management officials linked to Matlala's R360 million healthcare contract with the SAPS.

The contract was cancelled in December.
She said they’ve also downloaded data from Matlala's two cellphones that were seized by the PKTT.
"There are many people implicated in the tender, including Matlala. The only matter that IDAC currently is looking at with regards to Mr Matlala that relates to the R360 million tender."
Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema, also asked her if any politicians were being investigated.
"That is correct, honourable member Malema."
Johnson said that while Matlala was implicated in the Tembisa Hospital tender corruption, this matter was being handled by the Hawks.
