JOHANNESBURG - An operation is underway to retrieve the body of a child, which was spotted floating in a dam in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg on Thursday.
The body was located by community members who have been searching for a missing three-year-old in the area this week.
Three-year-old Mojalefa Savhuli was last seen on Sunday in a local sports field near his family home.
After police retrieve the body from the water, the process to identify the remains will get underway.
Community leader Mthokozisi Ndabandaba said the family of the missing boy has also been called to the scene.
"The child’s mother is here and also the family is here. It is the child - the clothes he was wearing are the same clothes on the body."
