JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are searching for the owner of a house where 44 Ethiopian nationals were found in Parkmore, Sandton.

The group of men, including 17 minors, was kept in rooms inside the house, with others in the cottage outside.

While the men had no visible injuries, police said that upon arrival, the men were found in a weak state.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said the group is currently being processed for being in the country illegally.

"We don’t know who the owner of this house is yet because inside the house, there was no one, so we are looking for the owner of this house who will give us an explanation as to how these people got to his house," said Masondo.
