JOHANNESBURG - Western Cape police launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a female police constable’s body in Langa, Cape Town. 

The 31-year-old officer, who was stationed at Bishop Lavis South African Police Service (SAPS), was found dead in her vehicle, with multiple gunshot wounds. 

Spokesperson Novela Potelwa said that the constable was last seen on Friday.

"The 31-year-old woman was last seen when she left her home in Kraaifontein for a church service on Friday evening. Directorate for Priority Crime Detectives have initiated a murder investigation with no arrests effected yet.”

This as police have also launched another investigation following another deadly shooting over the weekend, which claimed the life of an administrative clerk from the Kraaifontein police station.
