JOHANNESBURG - City Power is urging customers to allow the utility time to do its work, as it attends to a high volume of outages in parts of Alex, north of Johannesburg.
The utility said the outages in phases one and two in the area were as a result of an overloaded electricity network.
City Power spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, said that technicians were currently on site, busy with repair work.
He also cautioned against illegal connections and meter tampering.
"If these issues are not addressed, the situation will deteriorate further and lead to more frequent and prolonged outages, especially as we enter winter, when electricity usage spikes."
